Sports Mysteries!

Now, I'm not the greatest artist in the
world. In fact, I'd say this cover is a much better drawing than I'll
ever do in my life. However, there seems to be a lot of trouble with
perspective, and
that's really what makes it so amusing.
To begin with, how monstrously huge is this gym? That kid in the
background looks like he's a quarter mile away.
Secondly, why is the guy with the camera right in the middle of the
court? He looks like he's barely outside of the key. On top of the fact
that he would obviously be in the way of the other players, it also
means there's no way he could get anything on film except maybe
closeups of limbs. My guess by the title of the book and what the
general content of this drawing is, is that he catches a player in the
act of tripping or otherwise injuring his opponent-unlike the referee,
who is striking a commanding pose while staring out into space. From
where he is, I'd say he's definitely at no angle that would even show
the girl being knocked over. I'd say if we were to review the movie he
is filming in this picture, we might get a shot of the offender's elbow
and little else.
To briefly come back to the referee, I think it's clear that he's not
looking at anything at all. I can understand if he doesn't notice a
girl being injured because he's focused on the goal about to be scored,
but he's not even looking at that. He couldn't even be looking at the
bleachers at some hot girl, because directly behind the basketball net
there should be nothing but a wall. Okay, maybe there's an open door
and some hot substitute teacher is walking by at the time.
Finally, the part I find the most amusing, is this: What is the shooter
aiming at? He's directly under the net.
