I'm a member of a little-known MMORPG called The Matrix Online. It's a sequel to the Matrix trilogy, and it has been dying slowly ever since its release in 2005. It will finally be put to rest at the end of this month.

The Wachowski brothers wrote the movies. Paul Chadwick took over to write the game's story. He later left and now a guy called Rarebit (pretty much the only dev staff left at the time) took over. Now Rarebit is gone and the story is making pretty much no progress. I got the idea to ask you for help from this post on the game's forum:

I don't think I'd be able to trust anyone other than Rarebit with continuing this [storyline]...

There are only two others I'd trust.

1)  The W[achowski] Bros

2)  Peter Chimaera!

"sOh no!" Merpheus say at teh radar screen "more matrix is attack us"
"we will have to jug in" Trinity hooked her up

I can see the ads now:

The Matrix Online - Jug In!

If you would be so kind as to make your own conclusion of the story, I would really appreciate it, and I think the community would also. I think there are a fair few of us, myself included, who would consider your vision of the story to be 100% canon and on par with--or better than--the original movies.

Current story details to consider:
-Zion and the Machines are at war again.
-The Oracle is "dead" (but not really).
-There is a group of humans who live in a mainframe and have power over the machines.
-Two of these humans named Helian and Tesarova are after a program that encorperates the essense of Trinity who was brought back to life using it--sort of. Helian and Tesarova are nearly omnipotent inside the Matrix. They are the main villains at this time.
-A group called the Cypherites is running around trying to keep the people who live in the Matrix from being disturbed.
-Another group called E Pluribus Neo is running around trying to keep Neo's legacy alive.
-The Merovingian is power-hungry.
-Morpheus may or may not be dead.

Okay that's about it. Utilize these details only if you want to. You can retcon the entire Online story and just start over if you want. Just keep in mind that the story is set *after* the Matrix movies, and Neo is dead. I can't make you do this if you don't have the time, but if you do, the 100 or so people who still play the game will have a story they can cherish forever. I beg you to find it in your heart to tell us what you think happened after the Matrix movies.

Haha, nice. If there was some way that Peter could write the official story for the Matrix Online, he'd do it in a heartbeat.

But could Peter write an unofficial version and post it here...please? I'd then post it (giving credit, of course) to the Matrix Online forums and everyone would declare it better than the official story!
